Biography: Iain P. Hargreaves did his PhD in biochemistry at the University of Liverpool, between 1991-1994. Following this, he worked as a Research Fellow at the Institute of Neurology, Queen Square, London where he gained an interest in mitochondrial respiratory chain disorders and coenzyme Q10 metabolism and have worked in this field since this time.

He has authored 70 articles in impact journals of psychiatry, neuroendocrinology, and neuroscience, which have been featured several times in the media. He has been an invited speaker in international conferences and has organized drug discovery symposia. Prof. Pinna is well-known for the discovery of a new mechanism of action of fluoxetine with impact in SSRI therapy of anxiety, PTSD, premenstrual syndrome, and depression.
